Despatch / Cover Driver (Class 2) – Ashton Road

Pay: £14.75 per hour (£16.54 per hour with holiday pay)
Hours: Monday to Friday – 38.5 hours per week
Start times: From 06:15 (finish times up to 19:00 depending on workload)
Contract: Ongoing

We are currently recruiting for a Despatch / Cover Driver (including HGV Class 2) to join a busy despatch and transport operation based on Ashton Road. This is a varied, hands-on role combining driving, despatch and warehouse duties.

The Role:

• Driving a range of company vehicles, including Class 2 (Category C)

• Delivering and collecting goods to and from company sites, customer premises and external suppliers

• Loading and unloading vehicles using forklift trucks, other machinery and manual handling where required

• Completing all delivery, collection and despatch paperwork accurately

• Supporting despatch and warehouse duties when not driving

• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment

• Removing packaging, refuse and handling pallets as required

• Adhering to all health & safety, quality and company procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For:

• Full, clean UK driving licence

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence

• Driver CPC

• Counterbalance FLT licence preferred (but not essential)

• Comfortable with physical work and manual handling

• Reliable, professional and safety-focused

• Flexible approach to duties and working hours
